About

It's me!Hello, dear. This is the homepage of Xiaoyuan Ma (马皛源), an embedded IoT software architect in SKF. Before leaping to industry, I was a research assistant in Shanghai Advanced Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences. I received my B.S. and M.Eng on Electronics and communication engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and PhD on signal and information processing from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

I am an enthusiast for IoT system design and implementation, particularly taking great interests in IoT communication and networking technologies (e.g., wireless networked systems, IoT tools/testbeds, and computing on edge devices). I’m the initiator of ChirpBox, an infrastructure-less LoRa testbed, which is super easy to deploy.

Besides what I do at work, I love photography and sports. I like playing football, basketball and swimming.

[2021/11/15] We observed the relation between LoRa links and environmental factors for four months by using ChirpBox. Our findings are disclosed here (and dataset available here).
